Katie Kleihege Simon is an associate attorney at Scott Callahan Attorney at Law P.C. in Bedford, Indiana. Katie practices in the area of personal injury, wrongful death, criminal defense, family law, nursing law, and wills and estate law.
Prior to joining Scott Callahan Attorney at Law P.C. in November 2018, Katie was a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Lawrence County from 2014-2018. As a Deputy Prosecutor, Katie handled and participated in thousands of criminal cases and investigations. During this time, Katie gained tremendous knowledge and experience overseeing all Lawrence County cases involving operating while intoxicated, driving offenses, drivers’ license issues and expungements. Prior to being a Deputy Prosecutor, Katie worked for AAA of Michigan, focusing on insurance policy dispute and personal injury defense in 2012-2013. In 2011, Katie graduated from Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. She graduated with honors, was a founding member of the Thomas Cooley Health Law Society, served on the Grade Appeals Board and excelled in Health Law and Michigan No-Fault Law.
In 2006, Katie graduated from the University of Southern Indiana earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Katie is a registered nurse and worked at Jasper Memorial Hospital for eight years prior to law school. While practicing as a registered nurse, Katie worked in surgery, post-surgical, and oncology.
Katie is a Lawrence County native and graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School in 1998.
