J. Scott Callahan
J. Scott Callahan owns and operates Scott Callahan Attorney at Law P.C. in Bedford, Indiana. Scott practices in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, criminal defense and family law.
Prior to opening his law firm in 2007, Scott was the Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney from 1991-2006. During his 16 years as Prosecutor, Scott oversaw the prosecutions of approximately 32,000 criminal cases and earned a reputation as an aggressive prosecutor and skilled trial lawyer. In 2006, Scott served as chairman of the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney Council.
Prior to being elected Prosecutor, Scott served two clerkships, one for the Honorable David E. Nims Jr., in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Western District of Michigan (1988-1989) and the other for the Honorable John G. Baker on the Indiana Court of Appeals (1989-1990).
Scott graduated from the Indiana University Mauer School of Law in 1988.
Timothy M. Sledd
Timothy M. Sledd is an associate attorney with Scott Callahan, Attorney at Law, P.C. In addition to being a registered family law mediator, Tim practices in the areas of elder law, estate planning, criminal defense, personal injury, and family law.
Prior to joining Scott Callahan Attorney at Law P.C., Tim served 7 years (2008-2014) as Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Lawrence County. As Chief Deputy Prosecutor, Tim oversaw the investigations of nearly twenty suspicious deaths/murders/fatal crashes.
Prior to serving as Chief Deputy Prosecutor, Tim was a partner in Haury and Sledd (2007-2008), focusing on family and criminal law, before being appointed as Lawrence County Juvenile Referee by Judge Andrea McCord in January of 2008. As Referee, Tim presided over child support, juvenile delinquency, paternity, protective order, and criminal hearings.
Tim graduated from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis with honors in 2003.
